The two systems are not compatible. ETIAS visa waiver permits citizens of visa-exempt countries like the USA, Canada, the UK and many other countries to enter Europe for short visits for up to 90 days without the need to obtain a Schengen visa. These countries are known as ETIAS-eligible, and you can find out more information on them on our Application page. For citizens of certain countries, such as Nigeria or Thailand, the Schengen visa can be used to enter Europe.

No. To enter the Schengen region, you can use your EU passport without any problems.

There is still time to submit your ETIAS request. You should not submit your application too late. Your application should be submitted at least two weeks in advance of your trip. You can submit your application up to 4 days before you depart if everything is not ready. Most cases will be processed within hours.
